A familiar face

As mentioned previously on the blog, i have been on the hunt for street art by Gregos… and i didn't have to look much further! Here is another piece i have found (again on Broadway) by the elusive artist, now all i need to do is work out whose face it is!

Faces on Broadway

This was snapped on Broadway by an artist i can only assume is called 'Gregos', it's a 3 dimensional cast of someones face… maybe Gregos himself? The hunt is now on for other similar pieces that may be dotted around Los Angeles.

Seeing out 2011 in Style

I caught this piece downtown near the art district; I didn't however manage to catch the tags responsible for it's creation! This stunning wall is literally only a tiny part of an entire carpark that is wrapped with amazing graffiti… so stay tuned for more pics to come.

Swoon in Los Angeles

Swoon in LA

Female street artist Swoon created this beautiful piece in the Arts District of Los Angeles thanks to the LA Freewalls Project. She first creates her artwork in a different location and then wheat pastes it to walls, as she did here. Swoon was also in the MOCA Art in the Streets exhibit that showcased the progression of street art and how it moved into the fine art world.

Monsters of Buff

Here's a piece I saw recently down a back alley on Ventura Blvd from legendary LA based artist Buff Monster…. who (just in case you hadn't noticed) is heavily influenced by pink!

Banksy’s last visit to LA

Whenever Banksy comes to town his artwork lives in the public eye between anything from 1 hour to 1 week, as people clammer to steal them or the owners of the buildings that they adorn try to remove them to either add them to thier own collection or sell them to private collectors… therefore photographing them is HARD!

Anyway, earlier this year Banksy made a trip to LA as he was nominated for an Oscar for his documentary 'Exit through the Gift Shop' and while he was here he also did what he did best.

This is one of his pieces (that was taken down the same day) on Sunset boulevard.

Desire Obtain Cherish Lollypops Get Some Love

They say that art is all about taste?  These women were so excited by these lollypops by Desire Obtain Cherish that they wanted to taste them. This was totally spontaneous … but please do not lick the art!

This happened at the Art Basel Exhibition of Maximillian Gallery at the Scope Art Fair.  If you're in Miami, please visit us at Booth D30.
