Christophe Leroux is one of the most original artists of our era. Leroux is constantly teasing us by creating extreme contrasts in all of his pieces. For example: Christophe Leroux will use many shades of gray in very soft and sensual forms simply to visually soften a metal artwork that he then shapes into a stunning and perfectly proportioned sculpture.
Leroux’s influences are urban industrial. As a child he was fascinated by trains, boats and factories, anything that visually looked complicated. He wanted to make all this urban “intensity” look beautiful. One can see these industrial and urban references in his artwork.
