Artist Statement:
Gregory Siff defines his work as – “what the inside walls of a heart look like after it’s been eating, drinking, and, breathing all of the love, loss, and high-fructose-corn-syrup it consumes in a life.”
Whether it’s on the street, the bottoms of skateboard decks, gallery walls, or drips of paint on countless newspaper machines, his work is subtly becoming more and more a part of the modern lexicon of fine/street/pop art. His work sneaks up on you in poetic stanzas on stickers and spills of color in cracks of the pavement. Ketchup Red, Sky Blue, and Shock Yellow are unmistakably the mark of Gregory. His Pop-Abstract-Expressionist stylistics have made a direct connection with uprising youth, deep lovers and big collectors. Gregory is gearing up for the feature film, PAINT, a modern telling of the life of the artist Vincent van Gogh, which he wrote and stars in.
